Problems with connection

Post by picaro »

Hello,
I encountered the following problem:
every day I connect with this new forum and all goes well until early afternoon, then, and I can not understand the cause, the connection fails and I can not connect until the next day, for every connection attempt I get on page "error in loading page", and I repeat every day is the same story.
Can anyone tell me which could be the problem,
this does not happen with Euroswapper.com and other sites.
This problem happens to other people?
my broswer is Firefox.
Thanks to all who help me to solve this problem.
Best Regards

Now forum is in 000webhost.com (hosting of hostei.com) and I still have this problem. :(

Some days I can not see the forum (I see the warning "page not found", "server not responding", ...). I thought they were problems of the new server.

After using the forum this weekend with no problems, last night I received a PM and I could not enter to read it.

Searching the internet I found the reason:
http://www.000webhost.com/forum/custome ... -down.html
Your IP address could be banned from accessing your site by 000webhost. If you make more than 2000 requests to your site (within 24 hours), your IP is banned for 24 hours. This is designed to prevent ddos attacks. [...] each time you load a page it can be between 5 and 30 requests.
The solution is to connect to the forum using another IP. :)

I use Firefox 10.0 and found several extensions that does this. I installed PhZilla https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... src=search (version 4.1 not works in Firefox 10.0, I installed version 4.0.1F) yesterday, and after setup I could enter in the forum using another IP (now I can enter with my IP).

If you have another version of Firefox you can install a previous version of PhZilla, or other similar extension. If you have another browser you can maybe do otherwise.

I also have some problems with the access to the website.
I received a PM and its notification by mail. When I read notification and I tryed to open link, appears an error page in which is written:

PHP Error Message (it's written in a rectangular panel)
Warning: Unknown: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/www/euroswapper.hostei.com/ucp.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/:/usr/lib/php:/tmp) in Unknown on line 0
Free Web Hosting (it's written in a rectangular panel)

PHP Error Message (it's written in a rectangular panel)
Warning: Unknown: failed to open stream: Operation not permitted in Unknown on line 0
Free Web Hosting (it's written in a rectangular panel)

PHP Error Message (it's written in a rectangular panel)
Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required '/www/euroswapper.hostei.com/ucp.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in Unknown on line 0
Free Web Hosting (it's written in a rectangular panel)

So, link in mail don't work (is not possible to use it for enter in wesite).
However if I make login on website (without using link that I received by mail), there aren't new PM to read.
Moreover PM that I read and I reply yesterday, today are marked as unread and in my "sent box" there aren't PM that I sent yesterday as reply.

Links in mails should work, but again we got problems with our free hosting company so I had to migrate to another account with the database backup.
Your emails still point to the old account of course....

At the moment I have contact with a possible sponsor, which should solve all these problems.
Main concern about an agreement with the sponsor is the independence of the forum.
I have no problem with a banner, but don't want commercial influence.

Hi Luit, thank you very much for your attention.
Today link in mail seems work well, maybe there are problems only in certain moments.
However, I hope in good news for this Forum so current problems will be solved definitively.
Thank you very much for your handiwork and patience.
