During isuuing day for french 2€ cc Louvre, once again, website and eshop was completely overloaded.
Because of low mintage we meet this situation more and more. The annual Monaco's run is now "normal". Collect 2€ cc is a big mess and cost more and more money because main part of collectors must bying coins to dealer who made huge profit.
WHat will happend on the future ? This is a big question. What will be 2€ cc collection?
No circulated coins ?
Very low mintages ?

I stop collecting 2€ cc several years ago except french one.
I still follow 2€ cc market and it seems to me that actual situation is crazy.

AS collectors want a complete collection he bought all coins and then need to pay huge price for that. Buying coins, put on album and that's all is not collection for me.

What did you think about?

Last year Cyprus 2EUR CC coin surprise hits a lot of 2EUR CC collectors. I still can't understand why and how it is possible.

As I understand it, the basic idea of CC coins is to promote your country by issuing coins as widely as possible - let people find those coins in circulation
and pay attention. This idea is dead and now its only business.

I prefer coins to coincards, but several countries just keep making huge business out of coin collection.
Vatican is in my black list, Monaco moved there as well, but it looks like other countries are slowly becoming Vatican as well.
Sad.
