Latvia 2 €cc. 2020 and 2021.

Hi members,
can someone explain the reason Latvian 2 €cc. 2020 and 2021 coins are not put yet in circulation? Why the central bank does not release them yet? Especially the 2020 coin...

Hello to all!
There is two reasons - Covid-19 and Latvian bank UNC coins sale restrictions. Will try to explain my opinion.
- Latvian bank do not allow “to buy” UNC coins, they can be only exchanged. We can’t pay with card in the bank cash desk in case of UNC coins purchasing, only cash. Only cash mean that coins can be sold only through the bank cash desk.
- So now Latvian bank cash desks for coins purchasing is closed(Covid19 restrictions).
After BU cards and sets 2021 sale(01.2021), they told that both UNC coins will be available a little bit later when will be less Covid-19 restrictions. Later they started to say every month the same, at least from the June, that both coins will be available at the month end or at the next month beginning.
So, what I can tell, Just waiting this “happy” day and we'll hope that not go at the next year round for the third coin
