Monaco's makes people crazy

In a short time Monaco will issue a new 2€ cc in very low mintage only in proof .
After reading different web site we can see crazy prices up to 1300€
Saler are thinking about Grace Kelly story but it was a very different situation, making money is the main target.
Are you ready to pay more than 500€ for a proof 2 cc ?

500 would have been my absolute maximum, but whats going on with monaco is not useful for any collector...

I collect only FDC version coins, so I prefer delete this coin from my wanted coins, being an only Proof coin minted only and exclusively for speculations.

Hello,

I do not collect 2€CC proof, only BU and UNC.
And at this price, I would not buy certainly it.

There will be 2 empty location in my collection (2 coins of Monaco, 2007 and 2015)

But there will be always collectors who will pay this price and it is them who make climb the prices.

I read all these days about this coin and the hype and I'm deeply disappointed with the situation.
I have all the 2E CC coins (even Grace Kelly) and I collect the 2E CC Proof too (I have almost all of them).
But I don't know, this might be the 1st gap in my collection.
This coin is minted only in order some dealers to make money, and I don't like it at all!!
I will see what happens with the prices after 14/15th of November (Some coins will be sold during Museums expedition in Monaco).
Maybe some more coins be available in ebay and the prices will fall, but I'm not so optimistic.

For those of you who read German or Spanish: a German coin collector has proposed to send an e-mail to the European Commission to protest against this malpractise. He gives the contact details of two officials of the European Commission to whom you can send a letter / e-mail. His two main points are: 1) the minimum mintage of 2 euro commemorative coins should be 100.000; 2) a later to be determined percentage of these coins should be destined for circulation.
